Four Benefits of Pneumatic Conveyor Systems
Pneumatic conveyor systems are a popular factory systems that help move products along quickly. If you are relying on a different type of conveyor system in your factory, there is a good chance that it is not quite as fast or as efficient as a pneumatic system. Here are some more benefits of using a pneumatic conveyor system.
1. It Allows Full Automation
The pneumatic conveyors help transform your factory into a more fully automated plant. This reduces the number of workers needed to build or create your products, as no one needs to be present to move products along. You can eventually move your entire factory toward full automation, eliminating the need for many factory employees. Such cutbacks will increase the bottom line, too.
2. Other Pneumatic Devices Can Connect to the Same System
In some factories, there are several tools and devices that all rely on the same amount of air pressure to function. In a pneumatic system, this holds true. If your conveyor system is connected to a pressurized commercial air tank, you can also connect numerous other tools and devices to be used along the conveyor's production line.
3. The Pneumatic Components May Be Interchangeable
Pneumatic cylinders are often interchangeable with vehicles and tools that use pneumatic cylinders. If that is true of the system you have chosen to install in your factory, then you can buy several pneumatic cylinders and components to use for repairs to the system and replacement parts. You can then turn around and use these same parts in the vehicles and tools that need the same parts—a double benefit.
4. More Efficient
Speed almost always equals efficiency. In these pneumatic conveyor systems, that is more than true. Nothing slows down and everything has to keep up. Products move two to four times as fast along a pneumatic conveyor system than they would moving along by human hands. If you switch your factory to a fully automated one, efficiency doubles again.
Making the Switch
You would have to shut down sections of the factory for about a half day. Then the manufacturer of the system would send an installation and repair specialist to install the system you purchased. He or she would make sure that everything fits and works effectively prior to leaving your factory work floor. Then you can switch on the conveyor system. Release those workers that no longer need to be present, and keep those that are still vital to plant.
